First timer questions
I played GW for the first time this past weekend and loved it! I was wondering though, my Warrior joined the academy. Am I right to assume that once you enter the academy that you no longer can get back to Ascalon before it's fall? It would be nice to have the option to go between the two times. I enjoyed soloing in Ascalon, but also grouping in the ruined Ascalon.
Which leads to my second situation: I was fighting in ruined Ascalon with 3 henchmen; my Warrior died and the Monk Henchman died. The Warrior and Ranger were still fighting the creature. (it was some big lizard-looking thing that kept healing itself). My corpse lay at the fight scene for about 15 minutes because the monster and Warrior kept healing themselves, and the Ranger was too far away shooting arrows to take any damage - the fight could have gone on forever. I decided to just log out and log back on because it seemed like I was in some sort of loop. Has anyone else had this situation? I have to say, I love my Necro/Monk, she deals out damage, siphons life from the attacker, and then heals herself. Way cool! |

yeah, that will happen sometimes if you're in an all henchie group. If the monks alive then stay put but if the monks down chances are you're done for.
There is currently no way to head back to Old Ascalon after you enter the academy. |

battles sometimes will last a long time due to healing, but if it's just henchies left a lot of times I've seen them never stop without my intervention.

When I first joined the Academy, I too was very disapointed to find everything had changed once myself and my party compleated the quest. After talking about it for a while with my group, who, like myself, had just done that for the 1st time, came to the conclusion that it made sense not to be able to return after witnessing first had the destruction that was dished out during the animation sequence (lol, watching it I was like "Oh no!! Those {bleeps}! Soon after I realised I didnt have access to my second profesion either so I promptly deleated my character and rolled another to continue on, being a bit wiser this time |
